24 – 26 december – Christmas Customs: in Maramures, on Christmas night, lights are never turned off, and every house is decorated and ready to welcome carolers. The holiday preserves beautiful  customs.

27 december – “Cu Tileaga” (By Carriage) in Petrova – Traditional old Christmas customs.

27 – 28 december – Winter Customs Festival in Sighetu Marmatiei – Every year after Christnas, old genuine Romainian winter customs and traditions are performed in Sighet. Peasants dressed in traditional costumes, parade in the town center; horse riders, and carriages with carolers present customs from Maramures and other parts of the country.
